There is a new member of the Eve Family
Sahar and I are proud to announce the adoption of our first child, Arun Rangsi
Adoption is all the rage these days. Angelina Jolie is doing it, and if it’s good enough for her, who am I to blow against the wind?
Arun Rangsi’s story is the stuff of Hollywood Legend:
“Arun Rangsi was born in 1979 at a California Research laboratory. Abandoned by his mother at birth, he was raised with a substitute mother made of wire to which he clung. Then the laboratory lost the funding for its program, and IPPL Chairwoman Shirley McGreal, acting on a tip-off, rescued him from potential euthenasia. Once he arrived at the IPPL sanctuary, his physical and mental condition greatly improved, thanks to a good diet and lots of love. Today Arun Rangsi lives happily with Shanti, another former laboratory gibbon, and his daughter Speedy.” (From IPPL’s Newsletter “News” - Sept. 2006).
The story ended with a request. “”To keep this sweet, gentle ape happy and healthy, we’d love for you to adopt him.”
How could I resist? In fact, I was amazed as I think I’ve heard of Arun before. I remember reading something about a primate bonding with a wire mother covered in fur. Is this him? I’m still not sure.
In any case, we love him. He obviously shares our key features. He has my eyes and her sense of fashion.
If you don’t have enough apes in your family, you should adopt a gibbon now.

Actually, Arun is very handsome.
As for your Dad, he does it the right way, his way, or no way, and we love him.
He’s a survivor. God Bless, Gladys & Bill Mitchell
