Sean has a Website

Posted in Eve Family News at 9:59 pm by nickeve

My dear brother Sean Eve finally has a website. Some people would call it a blog, but I hate that word, so I won’t.

If you don’t know Sean, you should head over there immediately. Sean is a genius and an all around great guy. It’s been a rough year or so for him, so go there now and leave a nice comment. Seriously, leave now and say something nice to Sean. I’ll wait . . .

Ok, you see. That wasn’t that hard. What??? You didn’t read the articles??? GET OUT OF HERE!!! SHOW SEAN LOVE NOW!!!

Sahar has a new job!

Posted in Eve Family News at 7:27 pm by nickeve

Sahar (love of my life) has accepted a position at Yale. I’m not sure of her exact titles (there are multiple of them) but they are mighty impressive, let me tell you. Sahar is now one of the big brains powering the ivory tower (or at least the porcelain throne).

Best of all . . . the vacation can now begin. She has some well deserved months off that will rise to the next level with the upcoming blow-out / trade show in Vegas (ticketsummit.com).

We’ve been looking at rings. Yes, that’s right, engagement rings. Oh won’t my parent be thrilled after such long “courtship”. it may be happening soon people (the wedding that is) so be on the lookout for a save the date sometime fairly soon.

Oh, and tons of new Warring States music. (Shame on all of you that have not yet returned your reviews of the new album). That’s what you really want, right?!?!

Wish my dad luck with his board exam

Posted in Eve Family News at 9:37 pm by nickeve

Wish me luck!
My dad is crazy. For a long time, I thought he was just eccentric. A chip off the odd block that was Post-Victorian Britain. However, I was wrong. He’s mad. Totally nuts.

Case in point. At the age of 73 he is taking his medical board exams again because when he was in England his US license lapsed. So, this thursday, he’ll be joining a group of 20 somethings in a hot stuffy room all day to prove he’s still got it. Mad I tell you. Bonkers.

Anyway, please please please add a comment to this post to encourage my dad and wish him well. Mad or not I love him dearly and really hope he passes. I think this will make him the oldest person in the US to ever pass the exam. You can do it dad!!!

Arun Rangsi - the littlest Eve Sahar and I are proud to announce the adoption of our first child, Arun Rangsi
Adoption is all the rage these days. Angelina Jolie is doing it, and if it’s good enough for her, who am I to blow against the wind?

Arun Rangsi’s story is the stuff of Hollywood Legend:

“Arun Rangsi was born in 1979 at a California Research laboratory. Abandoned by his mother at birth, he was raised with a substitute mother made of wire to which he clung. Then the laboratory lost the funding for its program, and IPPL Chairwoman Shirley McGreal, acting on a tip-off, rescued him from potential euthenasia. Once he arrived at the IPPL sanctuary, his physical and mental condition greatly improved, thanks to a good diet and lots of love. Today Arun Rangsi lives happily with Shanti, another former laboratory gibbon, and his daughter Speedy.” (From IPPL’s Newsletter “News” - Sept. 2006).

The story ended with a request. “”To keep this sweet, gentle ape happy and healthy, we’d love for you to adopt him.”

How could I resist? In fact, I was amazed as I think I’ve heard of Arun before. I remember reading something about a primate bonding with a wire mother covered in fur. Is this him? I’m still not sure.

In any case, we love him. He obviously shares our key features. He has my eyes and her sense of fashion.

If you don’t have enough apes in your family, you should adopt a gibbon now.
